Artist 3 Gallery

Portraits that celebrate relationships and life’s meaningful moments.

Wedding memories, children and moments of connection

The artworks here explore wedding celebrations, family relationships and children’s expressions. Some compositions include the setting of an occasion; others move closer to a face or a small group. Compare the treatment of fabric, flowers and skin tones when choosing an example for your own commission.

Choosing this gallery for your commission

This gallery is a useful starting point for a wedding portrait from a photograph, a couple’s anniversary gift or a painted portrait of a child. You can also discuss a family-and-pet composition. Share the moment you want the painting to preserve, rather than feeling you need to arrive with a finished design.

Choose a painting above to view it at its original proportions. Note the example you like and include “Artist 3” in your enquiry so we can discuss the right direction for your portrait.

Commission a custom oil portrait in Canada

Our Toronto studio helps clients across Canada commission hand-painted portraits from photographs. Start with your reference images, the number of people or pets and an approximate canvas size. We will review the references, discuss the composition and provide a personalised proposal outlining the selected artist, price and estimated timing.

Starting prices are quoted in Canadian dollars and are based on one person or pet, unframed. Each artist sets their own rates; additional subjects and detailed backgrounds can change the final price.

A 30% deposit starts the commission once the proposal is agreed, with the remaining 70% due on completion. Allow approximately 4–10 weeks; your proposal will confirm the estimated schedule. Discuss a gift date before booking so timing can be checked.

Questions about this portrait gallery

Which wedding photograph should I choose?

Look for a photograph with clear faces, a natural expression and a composition you enjoy. Send a few alternatives if you are unsure. We can discuss whether a close-up, a couple’s portrait or a wider scene will suit the chosen canvas.

What photographs should I send?

Send the clearest original files you have, preferably with natural light and visible facial detail. Avoid small screenshots or heavily filtered images where possible. Include alternative photographs if they help explain expression, colouring or an important detail.

Can I discuss changes?

Tell us your preferences before painting begins, including the background, clothing and composition. If you have feedback during the commission, share it with the studio so we can discuss suitable adjustments with the artist.

Where can I compare other subjects and styles?
